Counselling for PHA to provide continuous care , AIDS ACCESS Foundation (Access), Medecins Sans Frontieres - Belgium (MSF- B), 2004 The training course on “Counseling Services Provided by PHA to Enhance Continuous Self Care” is developed for training PHAs who work in Comprehensive Care Centers (CCC) to be capable of providing and monitoring care and treatment. In other words, it is developed to accommodate the services provided by PHA groups together with the hospitals in helping PHAs to gain preparedness in: • taking care of themselves when their immune systems become deficient; • seeking treatment when they become ill from opportunistic infections; and • being enrolled in an ARV treatment program when CD4 levels become low and they meet the inclusion criteria.
The objective of this course is to develop PHAs who work in the CCC centres so that they can provide counseling services covering physical, mental and social aspects to PHA who come in for hospital services and whom they take care of during home visits.
