Prevention The prevention work of the AIDS ACCESS Foundation centers on providing education and information on the risk behaviors that may lead to acquiring HIV, with a particular focus on Adolescents. The programs of the AIDS ACCESS Foundation, particularly in the Kanchanaburi and Chiang Rai offices, actively address these issues, and the challenges that they present in real terms, in their every day work. The AIDS ACCESS Foundation places a key importance on the treatment of children affected by HIV/AIDS. Through our work in Thailand , we do not distinguish between children who are infected and those who are not, but we believe in providing support and care to all children who have been affected by HIV/AIDS. Through this approach, we aspire to not only address stigma and discrimination within communities, but empower children and young people, to become strong and complete individuals that are able to live full and independent lives. Peer education on the risks of HIV/AIDS continues to be one of the most effective when considering our work with young people and HIV Prevention. Our work in informing and educating groups that are ‘at risk' of acquiring HIV, particularly adolescents, is underpinned by the same belief system. That through accurate and comprehensive education and information on sexuality, encompassing HIV/ AIDS, individuals can be empowered to learn sexual communication skills that decrease the likelihood that they will contract HIV through at risk behaviors.
